Lecture Series 20.06.2012: Prof. Mary Barrett (Australia) on “Daughters in Family Businesses”

The Witten Institute for Family Business welcomes top-class scientists at Witten/Herdecke University

On the 20th of June 2012 at 6 pm. the institute welcomes Prof. Mary Barrett of the University of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia.
Mary Barrett is Professor of Management of the Management Departments at the Faculty of Commerce at the award winning university. Professor Mary Barrett’s research interests focus broadly on the learning in and by organisation. The main topics are career development and leadership issues, especially in family business management and leadership and women in family business.

 

Under the title „Daughters on the stage: Women’s paths to family business leadership“ Mary Barrett talks about her own self-designed study in which she examines 13 successor processes. She asks: How women and especially daughters reached a leadership position in family businesses or even how they failed trying.
