Employee Share Ownership – Future-oriented concepts of leadership for SMEs

 

The joint conference of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Partnerschaft in der Wirtschaft (AGP e.V.) and of the Commerzbank AG in Frankfurt dealt with the topic of employee share ownership for SMEs.

Under the slogan “Performance. Attraction. Responsibility.” renowned family businesses presented their share ownership models. Furthermore, experts discussed the significance of employee share ownership with regard to future economic challenges of the enterprises.

The Witten Institute for Family Business (WIFU) supported the event with an expert presentation. The Managing Director of the Institute Dr. Tom A. Rüsen examined in his presentation the attraction of family business as employer from a scientific perspective. The future challenges – especially for SMEs – were outlined during the following expert panel with representatives of renowned family businesses. Due to the growing tendency of SMEs to involve employees in the enterprise by means of employee share ownership its significance but also possible constraints were particularly discussed.
