Values in Family Businesses
The latest publication in our WIFU Working Paper Series “The transmission of values in family businesses – Stories as form of communicating cultural values” by Dr. Mirko Zwack and Prof. Dr. Arist von Schlippe deals with the question, how stories contribute to the communication of cultural values in organisations, especially in family businesses.
First of all the authors define the general conditions for the communication of values based on the theory of organisational culture. In a second step these conditions are compared to narration theory. The results are illustrated by means of different stories that participating family businesses contributed to this project. The trans-generational momentum turns these family businesses into especially interesting research objects.
