The WIFU grows – New scholar at the WIFU

Junior scientist starts her work at the WIFU


gimenez_daniela_01The Witten Institute for Family Business (WIFU) is glad to announce that a new scholar will now support the research and teaching area for Management and Entrepreneurship of Family Businesses.

The WIFU Foundation allocates each year scholarships for PhDs and Postdocs to promote excellent junior scientists in the research field of family entrepreneurship. The second scholar has been accepted by the WIFU Foundation. Daniela Giménez is supervised by Prof. Andrea Calabrò, Ph.D. at the Chair for Business Administration and Family Entrepreneurship since November 2013.

The research field of Daniela Giménez concentrates mainly on the fields of Management and Entrepeneurship of Family Businesses. Her research focus is the role of women in the strategy formulation and in management of family-owned small and medium-sized enterprises. In the respective research project she analyses on the one hand the importance of female leadership roles on a theoretical and empirical level to understand the phenomenon and its impact. On the other hand the research results are to be transferred and implemented to enhance strategies in the management of family businesses.

Daniela Giménez finished her Master in Business Economics at the Autnomous University of Barcelona in Spain. Furthermore she achieved an “International Master in Business Management” at the same university and a “Master Executive in Logistic Management” at the Escuela de Organización Industrial in Madrid, Spain.
