Riccardo Keßler studied sociology and philosophy at the Friedrich-Schiller-University in Jena from 2007-2011 and graduated in 2014 with a master’s degree in sociology with a focus on family sociology. Afterwards he worked as a research assistant and doctoral student at the cooperative research college “Family Health in the Life Course” at the Witten/Herdecke University, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. In his doctoral thesis he investigates family behavior after surviving a severe sepsis. Since April 2019, Riccardo Keßler is a research assistant at the WIFU Chair of Organization and Development of Business Families. In his current work, Riccardo Keßler explores the family side of business families as a structural condition of family business. For example, he studies the form of socialization within a business family and its influence on the succession strategy of a family business. Riccardo Keßler represents a qualitative and reconstructive research approach.
