Japansese Family Business / 日本の老舗ファミリービジネス 伝統志向のファミリー企業の成功要因 ー世代をつなぐ協力関係ー
Japanese Family Businesses are the oldest in the world. In this practical guide, we introduce the Japanese family system ‘ie’, which is one of the factors contributing to the longevity of Japanese family firms. We further analyse the succession process on basis of the 10 phases WIFU succession model developed from research on family businesses in German-speaking countries. First findings suggest that the succession process in Japan is similar for many phases but differs for the expectation about which of the children will take over the family and the business and how the phasing out of the senior generation takes place.
