The WIFU’s research strategy aims to overcome the existing subject-specific limits of the conventional three areas of family business research (business administration, psychology/sociology and law) and to focus on topics that are researched in an integrated approach at the interface between conventional disciplines. Based on this research strategy, the WIFU takes a transdisciplinary approach to the challenge of how to augment the theory of the business family developed by the WIFU with the theory of family businesses.
