A founding professor of the WIFU, Prof. Dr Fritz B. Simon held the chair for Leadership and Organisation (together with Rudolf Wimmer) until 2004. For years, he has been researching the interrelationships between communication patterns in social systems, such as families and companies, and mental and physical health. He is also the co-founder and managing partner of Carl-Auer Verlag and the consulting firm Simon, Weber & Friends GmbH. His practical speciality is counselling and intervention in conflicts.

He studied medicine and sociology. He habilitated in psychosomatics at the University of Heidelberg. His research focus is the study of organisational and disorganisational processes. He is currently a psychiatrist, psychoanalyst and family therapist.
