Prof. Dr Knut Werner Lange has been supporting the WIFU research and teaching area of Law for Family Businesses as a visiting professor since 2013. He founded the Energy Law Research Centre (Forschungsstelle Energierecht, FER) and the Family Business Research Centre (Forschungsstelle Familienunternehmen, FoFamU) at Bayreuth University. He is also the co-publisher of a number of juristic journals and books and a member of numerous professional associations. He studied jurisprudence at Konstanz University, where he completed his doctorate in 1994 and his habilitation in 1997. After research and teaching work at Bochum University and Witten/Herdecke University, he was appointed to Bayreuth University in 2007, where he was the chair of Civil Law, German and European Commercial and Economic Law. Professor Lange has been the vice dean of Bayreuth University’s Law and Economics Faculty since 2012.
